5. The last President we had (with the exception of Jimmy Carter) with a hint of integrity.
Edited on Mon Apr-07-08 11:33 AM by ThomWV
By the way, his wife, Mamie, she was a drunk.

On edit: Qualified by adding Jimmy Carter.

3. You look like most of the schmucks from West Texas.
The only thing Eisenhower did that was worth a shit, is when he sent troop into Arkansas to give the blacks their rights to school.

Other than that Eisenhower was just a foot stool for the GOP. Bar none El schmuck0!!

4. He Was a Good President
He wasn't great, but at least we had a balanced budget, and reduced the ratio of debt-to-GDP. A lot better than the last 3 GOP Presidents who are responsible for raising the national debt to $9.4 Trillion.

6. Eisenhower was decent
He sure didn't want to send those troops in - but he felt compelled by the constitution. Imagine that - a president following the law. What a concept.
He was known to refer to Earl Warren - a conservative governor of California that Ike made CJ - as the the 'biggest goddamned foolish mistake I ever made.' (words to that effect)

10. A. That's not me. B. What disproportionate & displaced hostility!
Ike did warn us about the military industrial complex and get the Interstates built...

Anyway, this post was an accident and intended as a reply to that thread about naming a "decent republican".

I'm going to request it be locked.

7. Did you accidentally hit "post new" instead of "reply"?
This seems like a response to the "name one good Republican" question.
