Do you think McShame will put Condi on his ticket?
TODAY, this morning said it is being actively pursued. what do you think? To me we can really make a strong case if she's on it that he represents no change from Bush policies. We could tie all the foreign policy and diplomatic blunders and especially the lies leading up to the war in bow if it's McCain/Rice.

It's not like she has any vast support out there.

9. actually...that might indeed happen for a couple of reasons...
1) she shores up his need for the backing of conservatives
2) she is a she (Hillary could lose some support from women)
3) she is black (Barack could lose some support from SOME blacks)

In his camp this might be looking like a REAL good idea...

18. Agree
It would be a very smart move, and his only real chance at resurrecting his campaign.

I am AA and I know of not a single member of my community that doesn't hate her with a passion.

Maybe, just maybe she could pull the ones that would be voting for McCain anyway.

But other than that ~ she has zero support that I am aware of.

Recall... Ferragamos while we were dying in the waters from Katrina.

Remember her lack of a welcome in LA

We see her as another Clarence Thomas.

Maybe worse because she kisses up to Bush on a daily basis.

We call her his "girlfriend."

Better he ask Laura Bush to run with him and he just might do that ~

We all know who controls the Republican Party, and it is NOT John McCain.

13. I doubt it.
She can't offer any regional support; she ties him even tighter to Bush's war that almost everybody hates; the bigoted haters would stay home or vote Libertarian because McCain is old and they'd worry that he'd croak and then (horrors!) an African-American woman would be president; not to mention that fact that Condi is unmarried and has a female roommate, which in the RW world means she must play for the "other team," and the very thought of having a gay black female president would be more than their shriveled, hateful little hearts could bear. I think it's going to be another rich white guy, maybe a slightly younger one, like Mittens.

22. Sure, she'd be a great choice.
And all the Democratic nominee would have to do is keep reminding everyone that while New Orleans and the rest of the Gulf Coast was treading water, she was shopping. And attending Broadway shows. And when she was handed a warning entitled, "Bin Laden determined to strike in the United States", she thought it was a historic document and blew it off.

29. "I don't know how many ways to say no. I don't have any desire to run for . . ."
. . .president. I don't intend to. I won't do it," Ms Rice told ABC television yesterday. "I won't."

. . .

"I know what it takes to run for president. I've watched it up close," she told CBS television. She added that although she enjoyed her job in the Bush administration, "one of these days very soon I am going to want to return to being an academic again and to get back to the California life, and the world of ideas".
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2005/mar/14/usa.suzannegoldenberg1

She only said she didn't want to run for President. She didn't say anything about the VP spot.

She'll certainly have her little lovechimp's support and blessings. He'll be like a proud lover/boss/father...

And there will be plenty of Dr. Condi-mania in the corporate media. They'll help her any way they can.

She's a direct tie to the Bush admin., which he should be running away from.

If he hopes to win, he'll need to move toward the center for the GE - to try and pick up independents and Democrats not happy with either Obama or Hillary.

32. Nope.
It'll be a rich, white male. My money's on Romney. He was the "annointed" one anyway. Sure, he and McSame fought during the campaign, but so did McSame and * in 2000. They're Republicans! Do you really expect any scruples here? On the off-chance McSame gets in, and dies in office, they'll want a more fit standard-bearer.

34. Just Think of The Dilemna
All those racist Repugnicans who would never vote for a black or a woman, and they're gonna vote for a black woman? While I've seen heads explode on smaller things, you gotta wonder how many vote Gramps would lose in the Confederate south or the Fundies who just couldn't break through their bigotry.

Personally, I'd love to see Condi run...get her in the open and grill her about all her incompetence. Besides being a war criminal, Rice is a totally void human being and I'd enjoy seeing the ivory tower come crashing down around her under some real scrutiny.
