Former minister and teacher busted for child porn

Ozark Christian College graduate Victor Scott McPeak Jr. was arrested by federal agents investigating an international child-pornography ring. The teacher, who impressed parents and administrators at Arizona Charter Academy in Surprise, were shocked by the news. (Arizona Republic):

Generally well-liked by administrators, staff and students, McPeak, 36, was the kind of teacher everyone trusted. The son of a minister and once a minister himself, McPeak had a religious upbringing and education.

...McPeak is now the target of three separate investigations linking him to child pornography, and officers said two of his former students who still attend the Surprise charter school have accused McPeak of sexual abusing them. He has not been charged with a crime.

By the accounts of those few friends and acquaintances willing to discuss his case on the record, McPeak came from a pious family and had been groomed to take on the vocation of his father, Victor Scott McPeak Sr.

What adds to the sickness of this piece is that Ozark Christian College must be a magnet for pervs. McPeak is the fourth former student to be linked to either child pornography or child molestation.

1. A former housemate of mine...

Came from a long line of Lutheran missionaries. Her brother was a handful, always getting in stupid trouble. Finally, the guy, who was fundamentally a good kid, went into long-term intensive counseling by court order. Yes, that counseling kicked up that his father had molested him. Turned out the father had molested ALL the kids in the family, then neatly taught them to repress the memories. It had been going on for years and it all started when they were quite young. When it all came out, it was a real mess. Seems that fathers taking their liberties with their children, both male and female had a long history in this family, going back generations. His father before him, and his father and so on.

Man, what a mess. I got to see people falling apart like cheap suits in the spin cycle and it was zero fun factor. I certainly paused to appreciate my parents just that bit more during this mess.
