Twentieth century bastards
In a mere 10 years the first people born in the 21st century will vote. What will these young men and women think of us?

They will be the inheritors of a world that they will not want. Pollution, climate change, depleted resources, a big screwed-up mess.

They will hate us for the way that we have run things. They have been born into a world without promise. Where the future looks bleak no matter how you look at it.

These young men and women will look at us born in the 20th as scapegoats for the horrible things will come to pass, and rightfully so. They will assume a debt that will haunt them until they are old.

They will have no patience with our recollections of the good old days when you could actually afford things and have a little leisure time. they will be poorer, more bitter people because of what has happened since we let corporate interests run our world.

They will hate us every time we bitch about how things used to be because they will know that we didn't protect it for their sake. Evey time they have to contend with a shortage they will know it is because we used it all up.

We will be called "those twentieth century bastards" to our faces and we will take it because we will know they are right.

3. or.... they will be better. they will excel
they will see the challenge and rise to it.

look, ... i have already clearly discussed with my kids at least 4 years ago how us adults are totally fuckin up their world. they had better get tough, smart, ethical, and have integrity and fix the mess the adults today have made.

my boys are ready, adn gearing up and not willing ot give up their future. bet there are a few more out there too
