McCain announces '08 bid on Letterman
POSTED: 7:27 p.m. EST, February 28, 2007

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Setting aside any doubt about his presidential aspirations, Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona announced Wednesday that he would seek the GOP presidential nomination.

McCain, who has had a presidential exploratory committee, made the declaration on the "Late Show with David Letterman," taped earlier Wednesday.

"We are going to formally announce it in early April," John Weaver, a top adviser to McCain, told CNN.

5. Is he TRYING to look foolish?...
...announcing on Letterman further reduces his candidacy to the level of farce. Total desperation upon seeing his poll numbers nose-dive.
