How many of you could have watched Petraeus but chose not to?
I started to watch then realized what a monumental waste of time and blood pressure watching that crap would have been.

He wasn't going to say anything his leash holders didn't want him to say - so no newz was coming.

The Senate wasn't going to do jack shit other than give him what he wanted - so, again, no newz was coming.

The three Mouseketeers - er - candidates would give grandstanding speeches but, again, will actually do nothing - so yet again, no newz was coming.

Various camp followers and hangers on would also speechify. I expect Goober Graham and Holy Joe had words to share. Goober probably got all puffy chested and outraged at the "Democrat Senators" and defended General Dave.

I chose to watch a Modern Marvels marathon on History Channel and then go to my rental property and do some more work on the renovation.

And I never got to yelling at the teevee.

It was a good day.

1. Turned him off as soon I realized what was going on - heard him on an NPR affiliate.
I stopped donating to them years ago.

4. it was worth watching just to see how arrogant this administration remains
cheney said 'so?' when asked how he felt about two thirds of the american people not believing in this war. crocker and petraeus basically told the congress to go fuck itself today. or they basically said 'so?'

i chose to watch because i still find it hard to believe that my country is in the hands of these criminals.

I only try to change what I can.
That being said...I voted today. That was the most I could muster.

8. TCM was on in our house all day
Like you, I refuse to watch them tut-tut and move on anymore, and I'm a happier person for it.

But I do hope someone will tell me if Congress ever gets around to doing anything serious.

Hope you see this, it's been so long since you responded to one of my posts, I think I'm on your ignore list

12. Not me. I've actually been working on getting my kitchen cleared
out, hoping that one of these days I can get it renovated.

I've seen all these loyal automatons lie before. I don't need to see it again.

was far better, IMO. Placido Domingo conducted.

17. I had class today
I could have skipped if I really wanted a coronary at 22, but going to a lecture about the Vikings was more fun, although I think some people might be questioning my sanity for sounding slightly gleeful in recounting the Danes hanging a bunch of prisoners across the Seine from Paris to get them to cough up the ransom of 7000 pounds of silver.
