Air America: Heading for 2nd bankruptcy?
Edited on Wed Apr-09-08 10:51 PM by HawkeyeX
If they fired their best broadcaster in Randi Rhodes, they might as well go Chapter 7 again and merge with NovaM, with NovaM having total control of AA radio, rehiring everyone back (Randi, Mike, Sam, Ed, etc)

EDIT TO ADD: I may as well say that Mark Green is a big fucking tool and a DLC shill.

5. The radio station "Green 960" is implying she was fired by AAR,
...and that "Green 960" will be broadcasting her on Monday:

4. Ugh.
This woman uproots her entire life, and works like a dog for these people and this is how they repay her. So pathetic.

6. Who will be next?
Hartman?
Maddow?

They can't seem to get along with talent.

10. I'll bet Maddow goes to MSNBC soon...
...and Hartmann owns his own show, and syndicates it to AAR, so he can go with whomever he wants.

7. The early days were awesome ...
since then, it's been like watching a train wreck in slow motion. The first backers were idiots and the second wave managed to lose what _promised_ to made the station great (Diversity, Openness, RESPECTFUL debate of alternative perspectives).

The Atlantic got it in 2005

9. At this point, I don't care
Randi WAS rude, overbearing and egotistical.

She was also informative, passionate and damn, she knew her stuff cold.

There's nothing left of AAR.

It's gone.

11. As usual, the DLC types would rather kill populists and defend corporate power than
work for the common good or support those who do so. Hey, it's their job and they do it well.

12. Ed? As in Schultz?
He never worked for AAR. Or Nova M.

Schultz is on the Jones Network, as is Stephanie Miller. Seems that most "progressive talk" stations are currently carrying some mixture of all three networks. I don't think there is any such thing as a "pure" Air America affiliate anymore on either terrestrial or satellite radio. Not that they deserve to have any.

If AAR finally gives up the ghost and Nova M ends up with Randi, Sam, Thom, and Ring of Fire, it would be great news. I'd include Rachel Maddow as well, but I have a feeling she would take the opportunity to move to MSNBC full time, and there's nothing at all wrong with that. It would absolutely kick ass to have her anchoring the convention coverage, and election night in November.
