Good Riddance Katie Couric: Reported in WSJ
Hey Katie, don't let the doorknob hit ya on the way out. Complete partisan hack. :hi:

After two years of record-low ratings, both CBS News executives and people close to Katie Couric say that the "CBS Evening News" anchor is likely to leave the network well before her contract expires in 2011 -- possibly soon after the presidential inauguration early next year.

Ms. Couric isn't even halfway through her five-year contract with CBS, which began in June 2006 and pays an annual salary of around $15 million. But CBS executives are under pressure to cut costs and improve ratings for the broadcast, which trails rival newscasts on ABC and NBC by wide margins. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120778369100203247.html?mod=hpp_us_whats_news

I couldn't stand to watch her when she was on morning TV let alone spreading the propaganda on Evening News.

8. She could replace Larry King
It wouldn't be much of an improvement, but at least he would be gone from sight.

14. On the King show she could say "Some say..." to her hearts content
Info-gossip is her style. When she had druggie Rush Limbaugh on CBS news the 1st week I tuned out.

15. Ack! I thought you were joking, but I just
heard that on TV. Apparently, Katie is disappointed that the 22 minute format doesn't allow her to be her perky self. :puke:

Edited on Thu Apr-10-08 07:42 AM by 48percenter
I never watched her once during the entire time she was on. Good on me.

But then again, I don't watch evening news anyhow. LOL.

16. I am so glad she is gone from the Today show
I think that Meredith Viera is awesome-I can enjoy watching that show again. I had completely avoided it when Katie was on it. I can't stand how fake Katie Couric is and I plan on avoiding any show she is on in the future. I hope CNN doesn't replace Larry King with Katie. That would be a disaster.

21. TO be fair. it was perky Couric AND the new neocon ass-kissing format that didn't work
NOTE TO CBS: If you're going to have a "free speech" segment, don't give a forum to folks with 15 hours of radio show a week.

Oh, and try to report the NEWS. (Not FAUX-style propaganda.)

24. I have to stand up for Katie
Yes she was certainly fluff when on the Today Show - I used to
watch it everyday until I just couldn't do it anymore. But I
watch her every night and she does a fine job. The only
reason I watched her and not the other stations is because
everyone dissed her so much, I wanted to see for myself what
an awful job she was doing. She gives me the news in a
professional manner - I just can't see anything wrong with
her. Lighten up on Katie - and its nice to see a female face
as a national news anchor.
