You Must Hear This: Challenger To Pelosi Calls Her Out As A Political Coward

What would you give to have a representative to tell it exactly like
it is, the unvarnished, unequivocating truth?

Shirley Golub, who is seriously challenging Nancy Pelosi for the
Democratic Party primary nomination on June 3 in San Francisco, is
doing just that. In her new radio spot she calls the incumbent out on
her political cowardice, for not drawing a line in the sand and
sticking to it over further funding for the strategic debacle in
Iraq, for being scared to even confront the White House over its
manifest impeachable offenses, and for not even having the courage to
appear for a debate in her own district.

You can hear this uncompromising new radio spot on this page:

PELOSI AFRAID RADIO SPOT:
http://www.shirley08.com/donations_radio.php

Yes, Nancy Pelosi is a political coward. And Shirley Golub is not
afraid to say it either. And with your help she wants to get this ad
on every radio station in her district with a signal stronger than a
tin can on a string.

We the people deserve better. We did not elect a Democrat majority in
both the House and the Senate to trade a rubber stamp Congress for a
rubber spine one. Somebody explain to us why Republicans can set
records in mounting filibusters when in the minority, but the
Democrats can't seem to muster much of filibuster, when one is
clearly called for, even when in the majority.

Does anyone believe that they will even hold the line at the end of
the day on refusing to grant unwarranted retroactive immunity to the
telecoms that broke the law for the White House, that without out
constant pressure they won't just end up caving on that one too just
like every other time? Does anyone believe they would even be taking
that much of a stand without the pressure of the primary challenges
to their own seats which are gaining more and more momentum every
day.

So if you like hearing the truth for a change. If you like the idea
of a representative who will call a thing what it really is, and
fearlessly so, please make a donation at the page below to make this
the most talked about radio spot of the entire election season.

PELOSI AFRAID RADIO SPOT:
http://www.shirley08.com/donations_radio.php

Because guess what, we are aren't going to win any extra seats in
Congress NOT standing up for our principles. And if we have to
systematically replace every member of Congress, starting with the
current Speaker of the House, with a different representative with
the courage to actually do their duty and get the job done, that is
what we must do.

And if you can donate $100 or more to the cause, Shirley will send
you one of the new bright orange "IMPEACH BOTH!!!" caps. We just got
in the latest shipment from the manufacturer, so if you had already
requested one it will be going out to you no later than tomorrow by
first class mail. And if you are so fortunate that you can donate
$1000 or more, Shirley will send you a custom embroidered baseball
style satin award jacket, with the "I'm On The Table" message.

Otherwise, please enjoy just listening to the new radio spot. Know
that you have someone out there actually fighting for you and the
issues you care about, and just keep forwarding the alerts to all you
know.

Paid for by Shirley Golub for Congress

Please take action NOW, so we can win all victories that are supposed
to be ours, and forward this alert as widely as possible.

If you would like to get alerts like these, you can do so at

15. I just donated $50. But I don't like how ActBlue is asking for you to "log in" to forward this...

I've never been asked to "log in" to my email account on another site, and frankly as an engineer, this shouldn't be necessary. I just sent a note to them that they'd get a lot more "viral" donations if they didn't prompt people for this. Even if we can trust ActBlue, this is a BAD precedent to set. If people start trusting this sort of thing, it just opens another wrinkle for phishing scams to exploit and getting your email account passwords. I'd advise others here to not "log in" and to send a note to Act Blue with the same message.

Anyway, they got my money, but likely won't get any from my friends, who I don't have time to craft my own email to forward to them as an alternative to them forwarding it themselves.

But back to the topic, I sure hope Shirley can get a lot of this going. Though it might be too late for her to impeach Bush while he's still in office, with more like her in office, it will damn well make sure that we can do something afterward, AND send a message to future Speakers of the House that there WILL be a price to pay if you don't do your constitutional duties, even from your party's constituency!
