Brock to lead $40 million media effort against McSame

-snip-

"Wealthy Democrats are preparing a four-month, $40 million media campaign centered on attacks on Sen. John McCain. And it will be led by David Brock, the former investigative reporter who first gained fame in the 1990s as a right-wing, anti-Clinton journalist," according to the Politico.

"The planned campaign is the product of a shakeup in the top ranks of the struggling independent Democratic groups. Brock, now best known as the ex-conservative founder of the liberal group Media Matters, last month quietly assumed the chairmanship of what's expected to be the main vehicle for independent Democratic attacks on McCain, now called Progressive Media USA."

1. I heard about this today from several places. I LOVE IT!
I've been saying for years that the Dems need to learn how to use the Pub tactics on THEM! I don't wanat to see lies, but pointing faults, missteps, and hidden facts is sure the way to go. With these guys doing it our candidates can't be blamed for it either!

2. there is so much ammo
The fact that the maverick that independents find tolerable voted with W 89% of the time, and that he is as right wing as George W is.

The fact that despite his talk about the troops and the military, he helped block or cut their benefits

The fact that he is strongly opposed to labor (hopefully this'll help some blue collar whites who may be loathe to vote for Obama realize there are worse things than voting for a black president).

The way he wants to spent trillions of dollars on unnecessary wars in the mideast and tax cuts for the rich while doing very little about healthcare, real estate or the shrinking middle class here at home.

None of these are insults, just facts.

3. On AAR Brock was saying that, since the Republicans have made McCheney's main
qualification that fact that he was a POW, his war record is fair game. Democrats may run from it, but he's not going to because everything about McCain is based on that one fact, so it's okay to evaluate that fact, objectively.
