3. the journal Nature is better, imo..
but if one is just seeking a general "layman's" magazine, I think Popular Science is alright.

5. They explain their reasoning behind it, in another article, fairly convincingly imho.
And to be fair, they absolutely tear him into pieces. I'm not a reader of theirs though, so I can't vouch for the rest of their output.
