Crocker looks very nervous, and uncertain of what he says, obviously because
he doesn't believe it, and inside does not support the Bush**-Rove Iraq invasion. He knew what would happen if they invaded.

How the hell do these people who know better end up taking a job like he has now? Are they being blackmailed?

"According to the book, Soldier: The Life of Colin Powell by Washington Post reporter Karen DeYoung, as the Bush administration was preparing for war with Iraq in late 2002, then Secretary of State, Colin Powell ordered Crocker and then Special Assistant to the Secretary of State, William Burns to prepare a secret memo examining the risks associated with a U.S. invasion of Iraq. The six-page memo, titled "The Perfect Storm", stated that toppling Saddam Hussein could unleash long-repressed sectarian and ethnic tensions, that the Sunni minority would not easily relinquish power, and that powerful neighbors such as Iran, Syria and Saudi Arabia would try to move in to influence events. It also cautioned that the United States would have to start from scratch building a political and economic system because Iraq's infrastructure was in tatters."

1. Regardless, he is aiding and abetting a potential war criminal.
If the Nuremberg Principles were applied, Bush et al. would be hung for conspiracy to wage aggressive war, waging aggressive war or "crimes against the peace", and war crimes like torture at Abu Ghraib and rendition.

2. Oh, it's not necessarily that he doesn't support it . It may simply be ...
because he knows it's a lie.

5. bu$h probably doesn't believe what he says either, on a regular basis. Still, that doesn't stop him
from spewing bu$hit. If Crocker doesn't support bush's policies, he should resign his position, immediately, lest he is caught up in bu$h's War Crimes. Bet he is worried about that.

7. The Biden questioning highlighted your point
Crocker was crabwalking like crazy during Biden's questioning. Finally, Biden pinned him down. He had to admit that Al Queda, the continually voiced threat according to this administration, is not in Iraq but on the Afghan/Pakistan border. This administration just will not admit that Iraq is in a civil war between religious factions; and our soldiers are being used as security for the oil companies.
