Vomit, Rinse, Repeat.... "I sing, dance and act for Jesus!"
'Hannah Montana' Star Says Faith Keeps Her Grounded
In the video, Jiroux, 20, who performs as a back-up dancer for the popular teen star, reads a question from a fan who asked if the girls were Christian.

The squeaky-clean duo emphatically respond, "Yes!"

"Yes! We love Jesus!" says Cyrus, 15, as she nods her head in agreement. "Happy Easter, by the way. He died for our sins. That's how awesome he is.

"Jesus rocks! That's why we do what we do," the Hannah Montana star adds. "She (Mandy) dances for Jesus. I sing, dance and act for Jesus! ... Now that I think about it, I do everything for Jesus. We make the YouTube videos for Jesus. We’re all about it."

I couldn't find a picture of Miley Cyrus with Jesus but she had this pic taken with Buddha

You took it that way. I fired a shot at a celebrity using Christianity to please her fan base, which I find to be disgusting and disingenuous.

30. I am hostile
I admit it. I am so fucking sick of the over religiosity of this country I could puke.

I am disgusted by what religion is doing to this country.

One of my favorite quotes:
Theology is never any help; it is searching in a dark cellar at midnight for a black cat that isn't there. Theologians can persuade themselves of anything.
Robert A. Heinlein

If religion, in this case Christianity, was kept out of government - we would not have a dumb-assed monkey who claims to speak directly to God as the POTUS.

31. I suppose I can understand the hostility
God knows many MANY christians have earned for their little club. But the thing is, there are soooo many christians out there that are decent people...many of them on this very board...who count their faith as a critical component of their lives. The outward hostility toward christianity (nay, religion in general) that comes out of this board is detrimental to ongoing relations with those who would normally contribute greatly to the liberal cause (of which some would argue Jesus was the champion!).

I am sorry I get up in arms when I see this sort of outright anger expressed on this board, though I should expect it given the history and especially the recent history of some very vocal people who call themselves christian...I just see the damage that it does...

I know now exactly what you were trying to say (thanks for clearing that up...wasn't sure if you were going for the double meaning or not). All she said was that she does everything for Jesus...and while I am a little doubtful of that statement (VERY few people do everything for Jesus) who are you to judge her?

53. Naa grammatically is off
For: implies purpose (I went to the store for some eggs)
Because: implies consequence (Because I was at the store I got some eggs)

One states My intention, the other just means this is why..

To put the two thoughts together:

Because we are all sinners who have fallen short Jesus died for our sins..

Why is she a bitch? Or is that just what we call women/girls we don't like nowadays? (Maybe "fucking whore" would be even better, no?)

Why do you assume she's clueless to the suffering in the world - because she hasn't personally fixed it all yet? How do you know she's not doing something about it?

She's making money performing - just like a lot of other entertainers. She's not a preacher - she's not making money for saying this - it's an interview - she's, what, 15? Get off your high horse.

If he tolerated the Macarena, it doesn't surprise me one bit that he tolerated ol' hillBilly Ray. I read in an interview that he grew his mullet for Jesus.

8. I've never heard Jesus referred to as 'it' before.
The zeal I hear these fundies talking about Jesus really scares me. How does dancing or singing have anything to do with him? Perhaps if she were saying "I donate to charity for Jesus" or "I work with the homeless for Jesus", I could understand it, but why does she even bother mentioning what she 'does' for Jesus if it has nothing to do with his works or message? To me it makes just about as much sense as saying that I furiously masturbate to internet porn for Jesus. Frankly, even if I thought he could, he just wouldn't give a damn.

57. It's a "relationship"
When your core being is defined as being a Christian, then everything you do or say or think involves that relationship. This is why Christians revolt against evoution..it offends the very core of who they are.

It is only a small minority who find the facts about life on planet Earth so deeply threatening to their faith that they have to surround themselves with a little world of denial and delusion.
