Gingrich: If Carter Meets with Hamas, Democrats Should “Disinvite Him from Their Convention”
Source: The Page (Time)

Former Speaker of the House tells TIME if the former president heads to Damascus he should “become a person without any tolerance in this country.”

“I feel very deeply that for him to meet with Hamas is an act of such total irresponsibility and he bears with him the burden of being a former president of the United States. He is not a free agent.”

Adds: “I think President Carter represents exactly what Obama represents. A left-wing worldview which regards the United States as a bad country and which goes around the world trying to propitiate our enemies…”

Also says Carter’s “entire presidency” crippled U.S. more than decision to invade Iraq.

1. I thought we were all about Democracy.
Hamas was democratically elected. Listen to what Jimmy Carter has said about Hamas, he has criticised them fiercely.

You should not post right wing lies here. This is a very cynical manipulation of the truth. Jimmy Carter is a man of peace and incredible intellect.

45. NAZI Reagan went to NAZI Bitburg.
Perhaps Pruneface thought he was doing his mafia bosses a favor.

Newt the Histerian didn't say squat about that.

and it IS something that we should know.

What could you have found to alert on?

35. That's my take on it. It was a lie spouted by Gingrich about an honorable Democratic hero,
and it can not stand without objection, at least from me.

Maybe it's not as bad as it looks, but at least tell the full truth about the man, if you post bu*****t like that here about him. Is all I am saying.

I do not have to go into the whole issue but Jimmy Carter is a true warrior for peace and should not be slimed on DU of all places. Thanks a lot~

8. Hmmm. Should we disinvite Cheney and Bush for their many visits and secret meets w/House of Saud?
Edited on Fri Apr-11-08 02:10 PM by FreepFryer
How many members of Hamas were given free flights out of the U.S. after 9/11, and how many members of the House of Saud?

The propaganda game is unraveling, Republicans.

Time for another half-century of conservative irrelevance (once the incredible damage you've done has been repaired).

If the grinch believes whathe said though, the repukes should do the same thing with bush and cheney for invading Iraq

much worse there because they involved the country, Carter is acting as a private citizen

19. So much for his new 'centrist' makeover...
"Gingrich, onetime bomb thrower, pushing a new centrist platform"

http://www.fortmilltimes.com/124/story/129090.html

I think he's just upset because he wasn't 'asked' to run ..

"more recently, he said he would run if he received $30 million in pledges toward a presidential campaign."

From "Gingrich Decides Against Presidential Bid"

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/29/AR2007092900907.html

However that little stunt netted him between 2-3 million dollars for the new think tank he's using to reposition himself for whatever he plans next.

Always keep an eye on Newt. He's one of the sharpest knives in the GOP drawer and he'll be back like a bad penny to curse democrats again.
