1. You can report them to the IRS.
But don't expect them to act unless they are spewing lies about a republican.

5. We need to start taxing the churches. If they want to play, they'll have to pay.

7. Politics Vs. Politicians
It's a violation of their status if they endorse a candidate...if the pastor stands at the pulpit and personally endorses. But they sure can and do talk politics. Every Sunday there are thousands of sermons with political messages said from the pulpit...that would be almost impossible to shut down.

All this doesn't matter anyway as the FEC...the Federal Election Commission has been gutted by the boooosh regime so that Gramps can break fundraising laws...a mouthy preacher isn't gonna get a single notice.

9. Small steps: get a delegation of calm, informed, and probably
"Christian" representatives (I assume this mega-church is Christian,
I doubt that mega-churches are synagogues or mosques, but you never know)...

Telephone for a meeting with the pastor.
On the pastor's turf...
Treat it as a meeting of the minds...
State your views, and don't be afraid to use
his ammunition: The Bible...
Use your ammunition: The constitution.

Try to approach it like doing community service,
without judgmentalism, or polarization.
YOu aren't there to have a holy war,
just to stand up for what is right.

Most pastors want to have a good relationship
with the community;most pastors want to be objective
and fair. Most pastors know that if they and their
church get a bad reputation in the community, they'll
lose membership and dollars.

Why do this? There's a scripture advice from Jesus
himself promoting a way to handle conflict by
'going to the brother and reasoning with him
(see Matthew 18:15-17...)'
Also the power of the truth (John 8:31-32) which
is what being a true christian is about.
Now when you use scripture against some of these
types, they get enraged.. but it's the best way to
nail them. They use the Bible to justify all manner
of injustice; we should use it to show them their
hypocracy.

I wish you luck in doing this.
If you do it this way, it's Jesus' way,
and they can't fault you. They may argue with you...
Then you can go to the proper authorities,
but good luck there..
Mostly, the federal government only intervenes
when there's vast sums of cash at stake.
