From $730 to $196 a Month
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/04/12/a-veterans-fight-for-benefits/
Walking up and down the sidewalk near the Colmery-O’Neil VA Medical Center, Tim Sanders looks like a model for the “Army Strong” ad campaign.

Except, that is, for the placard he is holding high proclaiming, “Vets are losing their benefits.” <…>

After tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, he is considered 50 percent disabled by the Department of Veterans Affairs. He suffers physical, emotional and now bureaucratic problems. <…>

Now 32, he is entitled to care at the VA medical center and normally receives a VA check for $730 each month. This month his check was reduced to $196. He can’t pay his rent or other bills. <…>

“I believe our government is being a tyrant. I’m proud of my country. I’m not proud of my government,” he said

1. LOL Check out the first comment!!
Pissed off and disenfranchised people with combat training, experience, and access to both weapons and the knowledge to make MORE weapons.

Are the neocons TRYING for an armed uprising?

2. I don't get into town much
so I have not seen him but you can be certain if I do (I will probably make a special trip) he will get at least a honk and a thumbs up from me. Perhaps he needs company? Good for him. In this town standing out like that is difficult. For some reason no matter how just your cause people think poorly of protesting. I don't get it, people do it anyway and get approval but on the whole I think you become "trouble maker" and god knows that here the last thing anyone wants is change.

Good for him. If anyone has any ideas about supporting him let me know. This is outrageous and he is right, they are tyrants.

If Halliburton could make sacrafices for the war and only bill us once for the work they haven't done at bases that don't exist.

8. I went to the VA hospital this past fall and was denied a damn flu shot! They
said I'm no longer in the VA system and I can't get back in. I didn't abuse my VA benifits, because I had other insurance. It has been quite a few years since I used the VA, but damn. . .
