Barf alert! ...... 'Major civic festival' tied to GOP Convention to be announced (Twin Cities)
:puke:

From the Minn-St Paul Star-Tribune:

'Major civic festival' tied to GOP Convention to be announced
Last update: April 14, 2008 - 7:44 AM

The mayors of Minneapolis and St. Paul will be joined by Minnesota U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman to announce what they are calling a "major civic festival" to be held at the same time as the Republican National Convention.

The announcement with Mayors Chris Coleman of St. Paul and R.T. Rybak of Mineapolis is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

A visit to the convention organizer's website found a few details. It is called "CivicFest: A Very Minnesota Celebration," and it will be staged at the Convention Center starting Aug. 29, three days before convention opens.

Visitors will receive a commemorative credential, have their photos taken in a replica of the Oval Office, attend performances, view simulcasts of convention sessions from a replica of the convention floor, shop in a 300-vendor marketplace and view more than 35 exhibits including a model White House.

There is an admission charge ($15 for adults; $10 for students, seniors and active-duty military; children under 8 admitted free).

The nominating convention for president will be held Sept. 1-4 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

But check out the reader comment at the end of the story.....

Ammunition

GOP festival in Minnesota? It makes me want to vomit, but I hope those republicans get themselves into trouble while they are here in the sin cities. Adultry, underage sex, binge drinking, gay affairs...it is bound to happen. After it is all over, the GOP party will be exposed. :)

4. It's all about civic promotion
Hell, R.T. Rybak is one of the most progressive mayors in the country. They're trying to drum up tourism to fly-over country.

But I'm guessing the Republicans will be too busy trashing taverns and hotel rooms and screwing hookers to go to street carnivals.
