DUBAI, April 14 (Reuters) - Iraq's oil ministry published a list of 35 companies on Monday that it said were qualified to bid in the first licensing round for oil and gas contracts.

Companies that failed to qualify for the first round could still be added to the list for later bidding rounds, the oil ministry said. Some 120 companies submitted documentation for qualification.

1. Give contracts to American companies, then attack Iran to "protect our interests".

2. If my math is in the ballpark, the market value of Iraqi oil reserves has increased some $16T,
give or take a few trillion, since junior, our war president, launched his pre-emptive war. It's not so difficult to see the brilliant rationale for this pre-emptive war when viewed in the context that big oil stands to get 88% of the Iraqi oil revenues, including all these extra trillions of dollars and at a cost to the treasury of only a measly trillion dollars or so. Moreover, only a modicum of Americans have been killed/maimed when holistically considering the efficiency of the carnage, destruction, and havoc inflicted by the world's most powerful and lethal military machinery. So the millions of Iraqis killed, maimed, made homeless, and orphaned have not been in vain for we are not talking chicken-feed here should big oil indeed get 88% of Iraq's oil revenues: with some $20+ trillion at stake, we're talking real money here folks. Since I sometimes tend to wax a wee-bit cynical when speaking of the foulest deeds of this administration, someone please call my hand and provide us with a dose of reality to balance my diatribe. :D
