Poll question: Tweety (aka Chris Matthews) running for Senate in 2010. Which party will he claim?
Edited on Tue Apr-15-08 07:00 AM by FatDave
Non-announced it on Colbert last night.

Edit to add: He's talking about running in Pennsylvania.

1. Shirley you must be joking.
...he loves Obama so much--his leg may still be shaking--unless it's moved up to his crotch. He wants to be an Obama-man.

5. I'm series.
And don't call me Shirley.

I disagree with your "pro-Obama" take. To me, his fondness for Hillary seems readily apparent. But this is in GD, so I'm not going to say anything more on the subject.

7. Tweety feels the same way about Obama that many of us do about Ann Coulter.
Tweety finds Obama sexually attractive and would do him in a heartbeat, but he hates everything he stands for.

27. OK, cool. She bites your head off after mating and eats you like a female mantis.
When you die, you don't learn any lessons from that, I hope you know.

10. You find her sexually attractive?
What in the holy FUCK? What would a man find attractive about her? Is it the adams apple? The husky mannish voice? Her dick?

3. He says PA.
I find it all far-fetched too, but that's what he said on Colbert, in Pittsburgh.

18. PA did already reject his brother for Lt Gov
although that may have had more to do with the top of the ticket, Lynn Swann.

15. Apparently, yes
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Senate_elections,_2010#Arlen_Specter_.28R.29_of_Pennsylvania

Of course, he'll be 80 in 2010, battled a near-fatal disease (prior to his 2010 announcement) and was almost beaten out of the 2004 primary by Pat Toomey.

Casey's term isn't up until 2012, so Tweety would have to be going for Specter's seat. So I wonder, does he challenge as a republican in the primary or does he run against Specter as a democrat? Either way he's got a good shot at it, but I've never been able to figure Tweety out. The "whichever is more popular choice" is there because to me he seems like he just leans whichever way the prevailing winds are blowing at the moment.

23. Yes, but he's very vulnerable.
In fact if Matthews does challenge him, and the polls look bad for Arlen, I think he'll decide to retire... at which time Ricky may re-emerge from his hidey-hole..

He will lose though because he is very unlikeable.

became a Democrat during McCarthy's campaign run. Served in the peace corp, worked for 5 different Democrats as a staffer. Ran for office (US House of Rep.) in the Democratic primary (lost). Worked six years as a staffer to Tip O'Neil.
