Hi Mike,
Some of the current polls have indicated that McCain would win in an election between him and Obama if the election were held today. I've been thinking about what it would mean to have McCain as president, and the ramifications are horrifying. I tried to list them but soon realized that there are too many to contemplate. But somebody ought to be talking about this and warning the American people because I think most of the people who are saying they would vote for McCain in these polls wouldn't want to vote for him if they knew what it actually meant. Here's my list below. If interested, read on.

- Mark
McCain's Presidency

- We will definitely be in Iraq for McCain’s entire presidency.

- Troop levels in Iraq will likely increase.

- The US will likely invade Iran and begin a long and costly occupation there

- Due to our military being overstretched, Osama bin Laden will likely remain free

- The US will be at greater risk of terrorist attacks on its homeland

- Bush’s tax cuts will be made permanent, and further tax cuts may get implemented, while government spending will likely increase, causing even greater deficits

- Bush & company will be pardoned for all their crimes (torture, secret wire-tapping, lying to congress regarding the reasons for going to war, bombing civilian sites, the use of illegal weapons including white phosphorous, depleted uranium and cluster bombs, etc…)

- The crimes that Bush & Co. committed are likely to continue

- Any hope for universal health will have to wait at least four more years.

- The Supreme Court, which some say already leans conservative, will likely lean far more conservative with 2 or 3 more conservative appointments by McCain.

- Roe v. Wade will likely be overturned, or it will be completely nullified by new laws restricting women’s rights

- Government regulations over corporate pollution will likely be cut, and the EPA’s enforcement of regulations will be lessened.

- America’s leadership in the fight against global warming will be delayed at least another four years, which scientists say we cannot afford.

- The so-called War on Drugs will continue destroying the lives of people who are addicted to drugs, while drug addiction will continue to increase

I have those cat accidents all the time. There is a product called "Simple Solution" that is absolutely wonderful. You don't have to do your entire house, just a spot. They now make it in orange too. It's very pleasant and works very well.

Mr. c had to sleep on his recliner last night because I was cussing and throwing things (computer's in the bedroom)! First, the federal crap,then my printer ran out of ink in the middle of our return. Then TurboTax got hung up because I'd inadvertently generated a 1040x or 1099x (whatever) and wouldn't let me efile. So I had to backtrack through the whole damned thing to find out how to delete the stupid form.

Even the kitties stayed away!
