Nugent's former drummer Clifford Davies found dead
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published Tuesday April 15th, 2008

DALLAS, Ga. - Police are investigating the apparent suicide of a former drummer for Michigan rocker Ted Nugent.

Corporal Brandon Gurley with the Paulding County Sheriff's department says 59-year-old Clifford Davies was found dead from a gunshot wound in his suburban Atlanta home Sunday.

Gurley says authorities are awaiting the results of an autopsy.

A woman who answered the phone at Davies' home said she wanted to check with her family before commenting.

Reed Beaver, who owns Equametric Studio in Marietta where Davies was a chief engineer, confirmed Davies was a drummer for Nugent and played on his trademark recording "Cat Scratch Fever."

Beaver says Davies called him Saturday "extremely distraught" over medical bills.

3. "Extremely distraught over medical bills". Interesting.
Congratulations Ted Nugent. Your radical RW politics helped kill him. Well, if he didn't have the money for medical bills, he didn't deserve to live anyway.

5. How typical, using someone's death
"Congratulations Ted Nugent. Your radical RW politics helped kill him."

to push an agenda. If at first blaming an inanimate object doesn't work, then by all means blame an individual unrelated to the incident.

6. Anybody who contributes to a system

whereby people are driven to suicide by medical bills, I consider to have a measure of responsibility for the consequences. RW politics is part of what helps drive people to suicide over medical bills.

8. Agreed, We are Responsible
for the political choices we make.

Mr. Davies died a death that many before him and surely will after him for
the uncivilized and greedy health care system which the Right Wing champions.

If not for his connections to fame there would have been no mention of his death.
Hopefully it will once again show the callousness of a system where one’s entire life's work can be swallowed in a very short time by medical cost.

I hold them reponsible for Iraq, The loss of my civil liberties, Corruption
Torture, A Domestic and foreign policy agenda that has made this Nation a pariah to the world we live in. This is The Right Wings doing, The fingerprints
on the gun belong to them.

This is an indictment of our system, Not Mr. Davies.
May God have mercy on his soul and give comfort to his family.

9. If the drummer hung himself
would you have manufacturers indicted for the making of rope also?

Not an attempt to belittle your statement but it's something to consider. I agree wholeheartedly with kiloman's take, very well put, but to blame inanimate objects for the suicidal decision of an adult.....

13. Huh?
I wasn't making a comment about guns, I was making a comment about our disgraceful healthcare system. Maybe you should try not jerking that knee quite so much.

17. If the rope manufacturers were right-wingers that supported the system that drove him to suicide ...
... yes.

And ropes do have many legitimate uses beyond killing people.

15. Then maybe we should kill Ted Nugent
:sarcasm:

Judging by the story, we don't know how much he is making, his insurence if any, etc. Maybe it was something else who knows. Don't jump to any conclusions, this was a very short news item.

4. Prediction: This won't cause Ted to reflect on his positions

Either "This is a tragedy and please give Ted his privacy"

or

"He committed suicide because he was distraught, not because he had a gun."

But not "If he didn't have easy access to a gun, he might have called me and we could have done a benefit concert to help with his bills."

11. 0% chance that Ted would change
Edited on Wed Apr-16-08 11:32 AM by MoeHayNow
for any circumstances. He is a businessman, a Repug, an outspoken supporter of shrub, the list goes on.

I hate the fact that I, as a teen boy growing up in the Thumb of Michigan, was a Nugent fan.
Mrs. MoeHayNow has to ignore the fact that I paid money to see him in concert on multiple occasions.

I am pleased to find that a person really can become more enlightened and educated with the passage of time. Ted Nugent is not one of those people.
