F-16's to "search for improvised explosive devices"?
250 members of Air Guard going to Iraq

About 250 members of an Iowa Air National Guard unit from Des Moines will be deployed to support U.S. combat troops in Iraq, military officials confirmed Tuesday. The airmen of the 132nd Fighter Wing will launch F-16 aircraft over Iraq to attack enemy forces and search for improvised explosive devices, Lt. Col. James Freese, the wing's executive officer, said. Most of the airmen, based at the Des Moines airport, will leave within about a week. Some have already arrived in the Gulf region.

The Iowans will spend about two months in the Gulf, much shorter than missions performed by Army National Guard soldiers, who have served 15-month deployments.

If this is winning, I sure as hell hate to think of what losing would look like.

Maybe gearing up for an increase in activity, say a couple hundred km to the east.

such as a beggar searching for something to sell, eat, trade, or use will be targeted by a Hellfire.

2. I think what they mean is the ground crews of this F-16 ...
squadron is being turned into infantry. So much for our air readiness. Think Poland 1938.
