1. I had to make up somebody's shortfall at the checkout yesterday
People out there, especially on social security and disability, are really hurting.

2. They should show a footnote.

**Republicans owned all branches of government for seven years
and that is why we are in the mess we're in.

Who am I trying to kid? MSM will never come right
out and tell the cold hard truth like that. :eyes:

3. I do seasonal work.
The winter is always tough on me. This Spring, as I have made more money, I haven't seen it. Gas and food costs have taken my extra money. Sometimes, I feel like I am spinning my wheels.

are up 30% since last September.
There are a few exceptions like tomatoes.

8. During our tomato glut
I made lots of ketchup and we still have lots of frozen chopped tomatoes.
We don't eat canned stuff. We have lots of veggies and peas in the garden and hubby's sister and her hubby have a fabulous nursery.

10. I've heard you can just hike up Blue Mt,
and pick fruits I've never heard of.

I worked with Jamacians for a couple of years. I still want to visit.

11. Hahahahahahha -
until the owners blast you with a gun. By the way I've hiked to Blue Mountain twice and it is by no means easy.
There are some mango trees on the sides of the trails and you can still pick those, but believe me there are mango trees much nearer to the city that are on public property. When I was much younger and lived in an apartment in the hills, my beloved dog Roots would just stop and eat mangoes on our road (far from traffic). I started giving her little bits when she was a puppy and she just loved mangoes. My city friends would crack up at my mango eating dog.

One more month to mango season - I can't wait. :D

6. Today I saw a man and woman in the produce section.
I heard her say to him: "We're almost out of money. We can't buy an orange." He really wanted one. I turned to look. They weren't old or young, and had just a few things in the basket. It was very sad. I would have helped them but she gave me a look that was full of dismay that I had heard them, and I saw shame in her eyes.

12. Others chime in if you've seen this. I've noticed a lot more
action lately at the CoinStar machine.

It breaks my heart to see people reduced to sofa cushion diving just to get by.

I don't know about most of you, but I'm two paychecks away from the same predicament.

13. I use CoinStar. I think it's great
About every six months, I take the change from my laundry room and purses to it and end up with about
$100 to $200 dollars. I'm lucky that I live in a semi-recession proof town but most every one here makes there living from the defense industry. :-(

14. You think it's great?
That they charge for a service that the banks used to provide for free?
