Cable News Networks........AKA.....The Catholic Channel's

........Did the Catholic church buy time on them....Troops are dying in Iraq and the Bush administration is still lying, spying and torturing the enemy.

Isn't it great to have distractions, this story does not warrant the time it is receiving.

1. Even the primary season is taking away the visibility of our nations
horrific actions to date regarding all you have mentioned and much more, each day our attention is kept on the inane the horror continues unchecked, I have no real solutions since sadly most people still to this day only receive their updating from the local televised events and we all know how informative that can be...

I see nothing much has changed in the last several years, those wishing to destroy this country's infrastructure continue unchecked and the msm aids in ensuring they remain protected and hidden from public view and some of the people humph and holler but as always they get ignored...what has really changed all that much??

2. The Pope coming to America is big news...
...and as such, merits substantial coverage. Not every news story not related to Bush or Iraq is designed to be a distraction.

3. If every head of state that came to the US received this much
wall-to-wall coverage, I'd agree with you.

As it is, it's too much; and because they are focusing on his role as a religious leader as opposed to a political leader, it's out of bounds. Why are they televising a Mass?

This is a nation of presumed religious plurality - do all the religions get equal time? Can the secularists get 48 hours of non-stop coverage of their position?

This is more than substantial coverage; it's pandering. There is certainly more news out there than Bush and Iraq and the endless presidential primary race - it's covered rarely if at all.

4. The Pope is a head of state
I was wondering about this yesterday-is the Church paying for all these cops and traffic stopping etc.?

5. "head of state"

Would the leaders of Liechenstien or Estonia get this much coverage or attention? It's not because he's a head of state, it's because he's the POPE.
