Why is Ben Stein relevant?
I know he was in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, but that part could have been played by pretty much anyone. Then there were those god-awful Visine commercials, followed by an incredibly insipid game show on Comedy Central (thanks so much for giving us Jimmy Kimmel :sarcasm:).

How does a Nixon admin stooge get to be a "pop icon"? The guy has got to be one of the most monotonously boring people to walk the face of the earth.

And he didn't even write it.

5. The irony
A shill for eye drops is blind. Was he thinking socialism when he said, "Get the red out"?

"Cleeeeeear Eyes for Dryyyyyyyy Eyes." I can do it pretty well, but the guy that cuts my hair does an absolutely brilliant Ben Stein monologue on any subject you choose.

7. Ferris Bueller's Day Off is one of the STUPIDEST movies ever made.
BTW, he used to be my boss's neighbor... he's a freak. 'nuff said.

9. I can't stand him.
I'd like to slip some speed in his next drink just to make him talk normal. He has to WORK at sounding like that. There is no way in hell anyone talks that monotone and slow for real.

15. Wrong - we need to expose this for the bullshit that it is
This debate isn't going to go away simply by us ignoring it. This isn't just about Ben Stein, it's about trying to inject religious beliefs into the classroom. This is a huge topic in school districts nationwide, and it doesn't help having this pseudo-science "documentary" trying to make 'intelligent design' a legitimate topic.

I think he died on that.. SO his miraculous reappearance as a pundit must be applauded by all!

17. Relevant? When did he become that?
A lot of media play, but never any relevance.
