Wal-Mart Recalls Chinese-Made Lead Toys
Can't say I'm surprised, what when is this going to stop?

Per the Wall Street Journal:

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wal-Mart agreed to a voluntary recall of "Hip Charm" key chains that can contain high levels of lead.

The agency said Friday it is recalling about 12,000 units after a key chain was found in the home of a 9-month old child with high blood levels of lead. The child was observed with the key chain in its mouth.

The recalled key chain has several charms including a button, clover, leaf, heart and a sand dollar that hang from a silver-colored chain.

The key chains, manufactured in China, were sold nationwide from April 2005 through April 2008.

2. My granddaughter swallowed a piece of a toy that we thought had been thrown away
Her Doc was very concerned because it was made in China and the lead content.
We ended up having two X-Rays to make sure it passed through.
Needless to say, we made ANOTHER toy sweep to get those things we missed the first two times.

3. Walmart REMEMBERS lead toys, and smiles at its profit margin.
And since it wants to expand into medical care, prescriptions, and insurance/banking. You think they are planning for planned obsolescence of humanity and trying to profit from it?

4. Does anybody remember a time when Wal Mart bragged about...
...dealing in nothing but "made in the USA" merchandise? Or has it been so long that I'm simply misremembering.

5. Sam Walton would be rolling in his grave if he knew
Sam used to brag that Wal-Mart sold all "Made in America" products, but now Wal-Mart gets 70% of its goods from China. That's the same China that shoots protesters and allows factories to dump mercury in rivers.
