PLEASE LET IT BE SO! Legal experts predict war crimes prosecutions for the cabal
By Spencer Ackerman 04/18/2008

With nine months remaining in President George W. Bush's term, virtually no legal analyst expects that anyone in his administration will face indictment and prosecution in connection with the torture of terrorism detainees. However, a new admission from Bush last week has some legal analysts contending that the case for such prosecution has gotten significantly stronger.

1. Sounds good to me.
Bring on the prosecutions. These people need to be held accountable.

2. Obama Has Hinted He May Hold Investigations
For the sake of justice, I certainly hope so.

11. Obama said he'd have his AG "look into it"
that's a long way from saying he'd actually hold investigations. I know Clinton won't do anything and I'm not especially hopeful that Obama will either. (And there is nothing I'd like more than for you to be able to tell me "Told ya so" a year from now)

5. I think that would go a long way in healing our country.
That ever-present burning, hateful, angry rock in my gut might be excised.

9. Much as I'd like to see this happen, I doubt it will
These bastards have tortured the law itself with their slick games of semantics, and are ready at a moment's notice to poison the well by claiming any action against them is a partisan witch hunt.

Do not doubt for a minute that the whole cabal sit around on their fat asses snickering every time this topic comes up. They know what crimes they've committed, and they also know they've created all the wiggle room they'll ever need to avoid facing justice.

10. You do understand the Bushies will pile our corpses by the million to stop such a thing
What are the specific details? Who knows?

Perhaps they'll hit us again like they did on 9/11 but this time with nukes. Perhaps they'll start up their Bushie Anthrax Mailings in earnest and send them to more than just Democratic Congresspeople and "Liberal Media".

Who's to say? But there is one thing I do know, the closer the Bushies and their Inner Circle (we can debate about who this necessarily includes, but at the very least CheneyBush itself), the more of our corpses will pile up.

Not that I would say NOT to prosecute them because of this, but just so we know. If CheneyBush gets close to any kind of prosecution, let alone jail time, Americans will die. Lots of us.

12. Americans have willing sacrificed for freedom in the past.
And we will willing do so again. "A coward dies many times before his death, The Valiant tastes death but once."
