Why did John McCain refuse to include wife's money in tax reports?
For without spouses income, Hillary Clinton had less income to report than John McCain last year, because of the book royalties. But with Bill's income included, they made over $109 million since 2000. But McCain decided to withhold that information. I'm sure there is a big stink about that decision this morning, isn't there? Why the double standard?

9. I wonder that also. Was her dad similar to McCain?
Edited on Sat Apr-19-08 10:11 AM by rurallib
I remember reading once that Jackie Kennedy just took Jack's philandering in stride because she was raised with a philandering father. Maybe Cindy Mac's dad was a hot headed asshole who treated women like objects also.

7. McSame is doing what
McSame thinks will present the best picture of him in the minds of the voter. By doing that he can paint both Obama and Clinton as the rich candidate that Bubba Joe SixPack doesn't want to vote for while he ignores their needs to provide more for the have more's. In other word the same old Repuke smokescreen used to fool the BASE into voting for them.

11. Hiding investment income?
McCain's returns show practically no investment income which would be appropriate for an elected official as the general practice is to put investments into a blind trust while the individual is serving in office. However, the spouse could continue to hold investments in the usual way. So the question is what investments are held by Cindy McCain besides the obvious beer distribution holdings? In other words what are they trying to hide?

20. Having a financial interest in creating more alcoholics
would seem to conflict with the public interest in enhancing the social fabric of America.

Shouldn't she divest herself rather than run a beer distribution empire out of the White House?

How else is she set to profit from corrosive Republican social policies?

21. I think Kerry did the same thing
I could be wrong, but I think he released his return and filed separately. I don't think it is wrong, the spouse is not running for office and is not a politician. Hillary is a bit different because of Bill.

of her tax return when it became an issue. MSNBC actually corrected the McCain statement that used the Kerrys as precedent yesterday.

And the country went crazy with ketchup jokes, and with some Republicans boycotting Heinz products. Remember "W" ketchup? :eyes:
