A rant from my right wing cousin!

I was chatting with my right-wing cousin (it gives me chills to think I have a neo-con for a cousin) about the recent crime problems in Chicago, and this is the rant that he went on. I suggested that his dad, our uncle, who is a retired cop, should be the police chief in Chicago. Here is the response that I got:

No. My Dad loved being a cop, but he's happy his time on the force is done. He'd never go back to it now if he could and the reason is he would tell you, "This (Chicago's Crime) is what happens when the police department is forced to hire a bunch of former gang-banging N*gg*ers."

The CPD used to be primarily cops of German, Polish, Irish and Italian descent, but now in today's political correct era, you have to hire a bunch of women, blacks and Hispanics. The women bring weakness to the force and given that Chicago's Top Ten most wanted criminals are all blacks and Hispanics in a city that still has more white people in terms of population, you do the math.

That may not sound very nice, but that is the cold hard reality in Chicago and other big urban centers. My Dad moved out of the city in 1970 knowing that if he were caught he'd be fired. Mayor Daley (the Father) had an edict that stated all Chicago firefighters and police officer were required to live in the city limits of Chicago. Failure to comply was immediate dismissal. The main reason was that the firefighters and police officers were mostly white guys and the white guys that got anywhere were Masons too. That was one of the reasons my dad became a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Shriners. Daley's objective was to thwart "White Flight" to the Suburbs. The reason my Dad left Chicago in his words, "I don't want my children going to school and living with a bunch of N*gg*ers."

Now, my son has been taught that the "N" word is bad for many reasons. We have black family members - more to follow, and because using that word will only get you in more trouble than it's worth, but in terms of my Dad's view of the world, I completely agree with his sentiments. I mean I wouldn't live in a gang-invested neighborhood like Compton. Would you? Additionally, these sentiments are common among the vast majority of white cops and the handful of decent Black cops.

I don't hate black people, but I do admit to having prejudices and I'm an advocate of racial profiling, because it can save your life, e.g. If I see a N*gg*er or even a White Trash POS I will cross the street to avoid them and my awareness and defenses go into a heighten state of alert. The reality is there are "Black" People or African-Americans that I like and there are N*gg*ers whom I wouldn't give the time of day. For example, my cousin is married to a very nice and conservative African-American and so I have second cousins with 1/2 AA blood in them versus N*gg*er or White Trash blood. Additionally, I look forward to reelecting my African-American state representative to the legislature, because he's not a N*gg*r. He's a successful AA or Black man whom I highly respect. If anything to the N*gg*ers of America this African-American is an Uncle Tom, but clearly there is a difference between an African-American citizen of value versus a N*gg*r, who is as dumb and useless as some piece of White Trash POS.

Now you have the unvarnished truth. These sentiments were the same from my Dad's Dad and Mom, the Republican side and my Mom's Dad and Mom, the Democrat side. My family is an equal opportunity friend of African-Americans and dislikers of N*gg*rs.

If you think old man Daley, Democrat was a champion for Blacks for having a bunch of Government Projects built - guess again. Old man Daley was so nice that he had all of Chicago's poor blacks housed like chattel in high-rise, gang-invested dumps as seen in the opening credits to Jimmy Walker's Dynomite "Good Times" show, because he like my Dad - who left the city - didn't want N*gg*ers living in his neighborhood. That's the cold, hard, sad facts.

When I tell you that Northerners are as prejudiced if not more than Southerners I don't say that to denigrate where I come from. I say that because it's the damned truth. Are you glad you asked?

Well now you know the rest of my Chicago Yankee "N*gg*r-hater" story. How's that for transparency? BTW, I cringe sometimes when I visit my drinking buddy whom you enjoyed speaking with on the phone many moons ago. When he's drunk, he throws the N bomb around as if we were discussing Chicago Cubs or Boston Red Sox baseball and he has some nice African-Americans living next door. Indeed it is not my intent to offend. I simply desire total honesty; however, one of these days, if I'm not careful my buddy is going to get drunk, shoot off his mouth and then get us both shot. But if that happens at least it will serve to validate everything I just told you.
