Suicide ? The strange death of Riad Hamad, a Palestinian activist, in Austin, Texas
by Adib S. Kawar
Global Research, April 20, 2008
Tlaxcala

We were greatly shocked and saddened with the news of the murder of Riad Hamad Esolh. Riad's body was found floating in Lady Bird Lake in Austin after he was reported missing since the beginning of the week.

Riad was a dedicated man as chairman of the "Palestinian Child Welfare Foundation", he was helping disabled children in Palestinian refugee camps, and he used to ask for my help to contact these unfortunate children to hand them financial help for medical treatment, education and food. I am sure that these young people and families who had highly appreciated Riad's help and humanity shall be saddened and in tears with the dreadful sad news of Riad's murder. We are sure it is a murder, and not a suicide, for a man who dedicated his life to help the unfortunate to recover from their sickness, complete their schooling, and have enough food so as to live a decent life, even in their retched refugee camps, would not commit suicide. He was helping people to live, then how would he take his own life!!!

What shocked me was to hear that some security agents broke into his house and carried away with them his files and CDs and other things, I didn't know what happened after that, but I was sure that he would be accused of supporting some "terror organizations" or "white washing money"! This is a big joke that Zionists and those who collaborate with them would want to see even disabled Palestinian children helped to overcome the hardships Zionism had brought them.

We call on all those who are in a position to donate to Riad's fund so as his good work will be continued, not to hesitate in doing so. I am sure that with continuing the hard and honest work shall make his soul rest in peace.

Riad comes from Beirut and lived in Beirut not far from the Palestinian refugee camps that surround Beirut, which see first hand their hardships, for who he decided extend his help to enable his Arab compatriots practice their Right of Return to their homes and land.

God bless his soul. A friend that I had never met face to face, but heart to heart.

============================================================================

There is much more to say about this MURDER...

For one, Mr Hamid's body was first discovered floating in a lake. Once recovered from the waters, it became obvious he was 'hogtied' with duct tape...and duct tape around his mouth. The Austin detectives simply stated he committed suicide.

When his family went to retrieve the body, they found his body mangled (as if a huge wild animal had torn up his guts), no clean surgical cuts and his entrails were still outside of his body, all stuffed in a body bag. The most ghastly sight, if you can imagine. It is against Muslim law to perform an autopsy without the permission of the Mosque. The family must be notified and ask their religious leaders. This is common knowledge of police authorities. What's worse is, whoever did this to the family, had intention of terrorizing them...they never told the family they were going to do an autopsy. And from what eyewitnesses said at the scene(getting the body out of the water), Mr Hamid showed no signs of cuts or injuries from sharp objects.

AUSTIN, TEXAS POLICE DEPT MUST ANSWER TO THIS ABOMINATION.

This man was Lebonese, and a school teacher in Austin, TX. Loved by many people, of all religions and ethnic origins. He was trying to help children in Palestine. Is that a crime?

3. An autopsy is ALWAYS performed in case of suspicious deaths.
That is our law, which is a higher authority than Muslim "law" which only pertains to practitioners. And this definitely sounds suspicious. "Hogtied" means that a person's hand AND feet are tied together behind them. It does not mean simply bound with duct tape.

4. No one said the autopsy was refused...you jump to conclusions
But talking to the family about police proceedure and requesting an autopsy allows the family to request this from the Mosque. It's something that would take...FIVE MINUTES OF THEIR TIME. It's humane, respectful protocol.

Hogtied with ducttape...that is what the witnesses said. Why are you painting something else, here?

7. I heard someone on a talk show today who claims to be the person who prepared Mr. Hamad for burial.
Edited on Tue Apr-22-08 06:19 PM by OmmmSweetOmmm
He said that there were huge wounds on the body, the head appeared to be bashed in -the brain appeared to be gone, and nothing was sewn up by whoever did the autopsy. He looked at it as being a message to shut up about it. He doesn't care and came out about it.

11. It is not uncommon for someone to be missing parts after an autopsy.
Sometimes bits are sent off for further testing. Sometimes they may simply be discarded. The bits often are just dumped back into the body every which way. Sometimes the incisions are stitched up, often not. It depends on what is being looked for, and at, and what will happen to the body next. Strongly worded requests may or may not be listened to by the person doing the autopsy, though some will try to make sure all the bits are returned if the religion requires it and they are made aware of that.

Autopsies aren't pretty.

13. Ok. All I personally have seen on autopsies is on teevee in CSI type shows, where they
stitch the body up afterwards. Thank you for that clarification!

14. Not like that, usually. If they stitch up, often is just a whip stitch to hold things in place.
After my parent died, had a viewing. I was sort of leaning over the casket, looking at something and realized I was leaning on parent's abdomen and immediately straightened up, hoping I didn't press hard enough to cause any leakage. ewww. I miss my parent.

18. The family brought their doctor with them to the morgue
Edited on Tue Apr-22-08 07:33 PM by OKthatsIT
The doctor was interviewed on Alex Jones, today. He hasn't talked to anyone else because he was afraid to speak to local media who would manipulate his words and he was feeling too vulnerable. So, I doubt your story, wherever you got it from.

The doctor said when he opened the bag, he had never seen such a horrific autopsy, left undone..the man's intestines out inside the bag...the torso was ripped open like an animal had gotten to it...not clean surgical lines, which is typical. But what's also typical is, the forensic doctor sews them back up before delivery...you know? This was not done.

The state of the body...was a clear message to the family. Does it need anymore description? They were being threatened.

21. One might think that doing an autopsy on someone like this, they would take care to do it neatly.
One would think. What a nasty thing to do. Seems like a message indeed.

25. This is a very disturbing story and there is a very heavy stench in the air of
more bullshit that is being thrown at us, and we are expected to swallow that excrement and accept it.

This is one time too many and I can understand how upset you are.

5. Police report said they were duct taped where he could have done it.
Seemed like they were saying in front of him. Suspicious, yes, but he could have done it also. Waiting to see what else is released about him.

12. Yes, I do know about him and what this may be about. News takes a while to come out.
It may be murder indeed. But I am not in the midst of things, and do not have full information, so must wait and see what info comes out and I hope a lot is released about this. From the police, from the family, from friends, etc. It can take a while for information to be released and I'm waiting, reserving judgment, since I do not have full information.

15. That so-called investigation was bogus from the start
The Feds are looking for ANYBODY they can pin some kind of AL QAEDA-like suspicion on...you know what happens.

They all turn up DUDS.

The investigation? They had broken into his home with his family there, with machine guns, out of no where...this happened months ago. Nothing came of it. Nothing.

This man was a Austin, Public, middle school teacher. He was beloved by all of the pupils, their families and teachers at the school. The community knew of his charity and contributed a lot of money to the cause. This was the 'RUB'.

There was nothing they could pin on him..so instead of owning up to the fact that they had nothing, AGAIN. The OFF'd the guy. Saving face? Hardly.

Witnesses said those hoodlums who came to his house with guns were Israelis. They had Israeli accents. Now, not too many Texans could tell you the difference between a muslim or israeli accent...but muslims certainly could tell the difference.

The Israeli Gestapo obviously doesn't want any good intentioned muslim sending charity to Palestinian children because they want the USA to think Israel would do any harm to children....what else could be the reason?

When the Austin police signs off with "suicide", it means no further investigation. Now isn't that cushy? Then giving the family the body was a clear message to anybody else thinking of joining a similar cause.

Just horrific.
