Pastor Hagee-~ God DAMNED New Orleans~ (with audio!)

Hagee Says Hurricane Katrina Struck New Orleans Because It Was ‘Planning A Sinful’ ‘Homosexual Rally’

*Prager AUDIO*
http://thinkprogress.org/2008/04/23/hagee-katrina-mccain/

*NPR AUDIO*
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6097362

On September 18, 2006, Pastor John Hagee — whose endorsement Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said this past Sunday he was “glad to have” — told NPR’s Terry Gross that “Hurricane Katrina was, in fact, the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans.” “New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God,” Hagee said, because “there was to be a homosexual parade there on the Monday that the Katrina came.”

On his radio show yesterday, right-wing talker Dennis Prager asked Hagee to respond to “the various charges made against him” in a fact sheet put out by the Democratic National Committee. Asked about his comments on Hurricane Katrina, Hagee said “the topic of that day was cursing and blessing”:

HAGEE: Yes. The topic of that day was cursing and blessing. … What happened in New Orleans looked like the curse of God, in time if New Orleans recovers and becomes the pristine city it can become it may in time be called a blessing. But at this time it’s called a curse.

Prager followed up by asking if all natural disasters are a result of “the divine hand” and if there is “any natural disaster that is not the result of sin?” Hagee responded by saying “it’s a result of God’s permissible will” and “that there was going to be a massive homosexual rally there the following Monday,” which he said “was sin”:

PRAGER: Right, but in the case, did NPR get, is this quote correct though that in the case of New Orleans you do feel it was sin?

HAGEE: In the case of New Orleans, their plan to have that homosexual rally was sin. But it never happened. The rally never happened.

PRAGER: No, I understand.

HAGEE: It was scheduled that Monday.

PRAGER: No, I’m only trying to understand that in the case of New Orleans, you do feel that God’s hand was in it because of a sinful city?

HAGEE: That it was a city that was planning a sinful conduct, yes.

Unconvinced by Hagee’s explanation, Prager said “frankly” that critics “can get you” for those comments “because people don’t like to hear that sort of thing.”

1. So, all of the victims were homosexuals? God works in mysterious ways.

9. The gay neighborhood?
I've never heard of homosexuals having their own neighborhood. :)

Is it gated?

Do they fornicate in the streets?

42. You are kidding, right?
I mean most of the best cities have their gay neighborhoods. If you don't know where they are, just check out the gay pride parade - it will go through the best gay neighborhoods, evah! And it's important that you know where they are because they have the best bars, the best restaurants and the best interior decorators.

I mean, really, come on.

Come to Seattle some time, I'll take you to Capitol Hill. I can't afford to live there but it's a bitchin' place to visit! And it's been just too long but I think, in San Francisco, it's the Mission District, but I could be wrong. And so on and so on. They have no need to live among the heathen when they can live among kewl brethren. I mean really.

Suddenly the MSM will find stories about crazy pastors to be irrelevant.

However the internet is the news alternative. Right now the people who would be spreading these stories are busy fighting a virtual civil war.

6. This Hagee crap is a non-starter...
Hagee was NOT McSame's spiritual advisor. He was not his "mentor." McSame did not take hagees words and make him the title to his best-selling book. McSame did not sit in hagee's church for 20 years.

Hagee has endorsed McSame, thats it.

If this is the best material we have, then we are sunk; comparing hagee to Wright is like comparing an apple to a mongoose; not even close to the same thing.

16. Its a starter if we make it a starter...
The simple truth is that republicans have shown that they think Hagee's behavior is acceptable for a Christian leader. Yet they are all over Wright for saying we will be damned if we kill inocent people (Iraqi's) who have done nothing to us.

They are are wrong, we are wright. (I mean right.)

This is very good material. We are not sunk. We need to stand and have the courage of our convictions.

that says so much about who he as a candidate willing to pander to any scum in order to advance his candidacy.

24. It isn't the best material by I think it is a starter
McCain went out and lobbied Hagee for his support and he didn't really need to - he already had the nomination pretty much sewed up.

McCain knew or should have known exactly what Hagee represented and what he has said. McCain entered into this relationship from a cold start not a long relationship like Obama and Wright in which Obama is supposed to just drop his pastor cold.

8. I don't see a tit for tat here.
McCain didn't have Hagee as pastor for 20 years. I don't think this can be twisted all up to the same effect they've managed to twist Obama and Wright.

And yeah - I said "tit". :)

Neither the article nor the OP mentioned Mr. Obama or Reverend Wright.
Read it this time.

It identifies a judgemental & prejudiced fundamentalist that has endorsed a candidate he finds acceptable.

36. Those vultures will use anything.
Obama didn't help by using the world "friendly" but if they weren't ripping on Obama over this it would be something else. They are just doing anything they can think of to get "whitie" to think of Obama as a "reverse racist" who can't wait to destroy "our" way of life.

When Obama was on Daily Show the other night, Jon asked if he planned to enslave the entire white race. Funny as hell.

17. He has committed a sin. The sin of denying the Holy Spirit.
He has claimed that actions he feels to be sinful are beyond God's forgiveness and required punishment and even death from God. When committed with regards to one's on sins it is an unforgivable sin as it means you have not sought forgiveness.

note: I'm not making any claim of other's actions being sinful except for Mr. Hagee's

33. Yo Hagee! I've got your sinful conduct right here!

History lesson: The French Quarter and Faubourg Marigny, the heart of New Orleans' gay community, received scarcely any flooding from "the Katrina". (Do I read about that on "the Google"?) Meanwhile, across town, the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary took about eight feet. Also, Southern Decadence (it's more of a party than a "rally") was scheduled for the Monday after "the Katrina" came (i.e. Labor Day), but these are mere niggling details.

My former go-to NOLA blogger, recently deceased, had a word for such as Hagee. The word is "fuckmook".

http://www.rememberashleymorris.com

Congratulations, John Hagee. You are officially declared to be a fuckmook! :grr: :banghead:
