2. I would like to think that having Kaelin on is a sly commentary on the credibility...
of pundits, but I'm probably wrong. Damn it.

5. Uh, no, some a-hole our fellow Libs built up. He was a semi-regular on the SCABrough circus
back when GORE was showcasing the worldwide concerts benefitting anti-global/warming, and then GORE's son got arrested (again) for DWI and this RIDLEY dude DEMANDED that Gore QUIT the concert debut and go hold GORE III's hand to prove he was a good parent.

He's some kind of director/screenwriter that is a pet of Hollywood Libs. Something like that.

John Ridley is an American film director, actor, and writer.

Ridley got his start as a stand-up comedian. He eventually was hired as a writer for sitcoms such as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Martin. He began to concentrate on writing and wrote his first novel Stray Dogs which became the basis the 1997 film U-Turn, directed by Oliver Stone. Ridley also provided the original script for the film Three Kings, starring George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg and Ice Cube. But his script was changed so much by director David O. Russell that he only received a credit for the original story. He also tried his hand at directing with the film Cold Around the Heart.

He is one of the creators of Urban Entertainment, showcasing short films and animation from minority filmmakers, including his own works: the animated cartoons Undercover Brother (the basis for the film starring comedian Eddie Griffin) and Those Who Walk in Darkness, featuring the voice of rapper Lil' Kim — which itself was the basis of a novel of the same name written by Ridley.

Ridley was a regular panelist on the MSNBC daily morning show Morning Joe, and was an occasional guest on the network's recently cancelled nightly program Scarborough Country. He hosted the short-lived Movie Club with John Ridley on American Movie Classics and has written The Authority and The American Way for DC Comics. He has recently become a regular guest commentator on American Public Media's Weekend America in a segment called "Good News, Bad News, No News" which reviews the week's news. He co-produced the film Bobby. He wrote the play Ten Thousand Years about kamikaze pilots in World War II. On the weekend of August 19, 2006, John co-hosted the syndicated program Ebert & Roeper while film critic Roger Ebert was on medical leave. On August 28, 2007, it was announced that George Lucas hired him to pen the script for his upcoming World War II film Red Tails.

WGA Member John Ridley Goes Fi-Core
I understand this happened recently. He has brought attention to himself during the writers strike with his blogging on The Huffington Post very critical of the union's leadership.

John has hated the WGA since the arbitration process almost made him lose his credit on “Three Kings.”

Jerky writer/director David O. Russell tried to get John’s name removed from the film and the WGA’s horrible arbitration process almost let it happen (as it favors bigger names over smaller ones.)

Since then John has DESPISED the WGA and used all his skills to badmouth it. And since he’s a great speaker and a really smart guy (and a helluva writer) John has gotten bigger and bigger platforms to do this (even on the liberal Huffingtonpost.com who you would expect to be on the pro-union side.)

If John has let his hate drive him to exit the one organization that fights for him and his fellow writers (and makes sure he can one day do crazy things like retire and have health insurance,) I say good riddance.

It’s worth noting that John Ridley is an anomaly in Hollywood — he’s a neo-con Iraq War/Bush supporter — and this is simply an expression of his thinwitted politics. That and his desire to burnish a somewhat dubious reputation as an ‘independent’ thinker unafraid of difficult choices.

I’m guessing this one was easy. John wants attention, John wants to get paid. Good riddance.
