Freedom's Watch caught Red-Handed!

You know how you can tell who wrote a Word Document by looking at "properties" . . . .

Well, apparently the Swift-boat-wannabee, Freedom's Watch, or somebody at the RNCC doesn't.

The DCCC got hold of the script of an ad Freedom's Watch is running in a Congressional race in Louisiana, looked at "properties" and discovered that it was written by the RNCC.

There's a video in this thread at Kos that shows it.

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/4/27/204138/220/714/501694

Oh, you probably know that it's illegal for a 527 like Freedom's Watch to coordinate with a candidate or political party.

Seems like an injunction should be in order.

1. "It's not illegal when Repubs do it." That's the plain-jane definition of FASCISM. nm

23. Right. Isn't the FEC short of enough members to fill its panel?
(Just read the other day that that was one reason McCain isn't in violation of FEC rules w/ his use of the wife's corporate jet. The fix for that loophole had been submitted to the FEC, but the lack of a full FEC board has held-up the fix's finalization. Just coincidence, I'm sure.)

26. Yes. That's why Popeye is able to get away with murder.
Here's an article that talks about his dough-re-mi: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/04/03/MNKRVVATR.DTL&type=politics

and another discussing the deballed FEC: http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/04/28/with_the_fec_inactive_the_comp.html

All the complaints highlight a problem that the group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) is now attempting to spotlight with its new website, Fixthe FEC.org.

With the senate in a prolonged stalemate over how to proceed on President Bush's nominations to fill four vacancies on the six-member commission, the FEC has been unable to do much of anything with these and other complaints. It takes four votes of the commission to rule on complaints, but the FEC has only two members.

"In the midst of the presidential campaign season, the Federal Election Commission has been rendered ineffectual," said the CREW's executive director, Melanie Sloan, in a statement. "Incredibly, the FEC cannot address any complaints against presidential candidates or a series of public financing questions. With no one on the watch, who's to say some unscrupulous souls won't violate the law in order to gain advantage in an election? Once an election is over there is no unseating the winners, whether or not they played by the rules."

8. This is why
they accused the DNC of the same offense regarding the new "100 years" McCain ad. They new this was coming and by accusing the Dems they create the perception that both sides are doing it. Very smart, very evil.

10. I think we should all give the RNCC some slack here...
Edited on Mon Apr-28-08 04:25 PM by crimsonblue
I mean they are running into all sorts of financial and accounting problems, plus they are poised to lose innumerous seats, so I think it is time we stopped picking on the defenseless repugs.

edit: :sarcasm: sorry, i forgot that words do a shitty job with sarcasm

11. But the GOP is falling apart by the very ill will of it's members!
Why not pick on the corpses? They never ever did us a lick of good all those years in office. I say kick them in the ass and when they are down, get all up in their face and tell em what losers they are and pathetic human beings! It is the only thing they understand since peace and negotiation enrages them into a violent frenzy.

12. Dude, I think that post was sarcasm.
We'd all be better off if everyone knew about the :sarcasm : smiley.

If it wasn't, I agree with you. They're down, but if we don't give 'em a few good steel-toed kicks to the balls and face, they may try to get up again.

14. Sarcasm or not, it is all repukes know. If you try and reason with them
or take a peaceful approach or heaven forbid you negotiate and compromise (horrible, horrible word) they immediately take it as a sign of weakness and go for your jugular.

I've seen a full fledged repuke go for the jugular, ain't a pretty sight.

If they are down, then keep them down.

know that they're safe from prosecution, so long as they're on the side of the ruling party.

Remember how they picked apart the documents during "memogate"? Apparently they don't even bother with their own documents, I mean how many repukes even bother to spell-check their own message board posts?
