ANDERSON -- An 18-year-old described by neighbors as a courteous, polite and average boy was arraigned Sunday on four counts of murder, accused of gunning down four members of his family in a quiet suburban neighborhood.
Nathaniel Casey Dickson wore an orange jumpsuit and tilted his head slightly to the left for most of the five-minute hearing.
Twelve of the victims' relatives crammed into a small courtroom as Dickson appeared on closed-circuit television from the county Detention Center.
Dickson has been charged with four counts of murder in the shootings Saturday of his father, Samuel Andrew Dickson, 46; brother, Taylor Alex Dickson, 14; Maritza Hurtado Dickson; and her daughter, Melissa Jiliam Salazar, 19, warrants said.
