CPS: Half of sect's teen girls have been pregnant (AP/CNN)

SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) -- More than half the teen girls taken from a polygamist compound in west Texas have children or are pregnant, state officials said Monday.

A total of 53 girls between the ages of 14 and 17 are in state custody after a raid 3½ weeks ago at the Yearning For Zion Ranch in Eldorado.

Of those girls, 31 either have children or are pregnant, said Child Protective Services spokesman Darrell Azar. Two of those are pregnant now, he said; it was unclear whether either of those two already have children.

"It shows you a pretty distinct pattern, that it was pretty pervasive," he said.

Under Texas law, children under the age of 17 generally cannot consent to sex with an adult. A girl can get married with parental permission at 16, but none of these girls is believed to have a legal marriage under state law.

1. Serial child molesters....

I can't wait until the DNA tests return and these monster child molesters
are identified, convicted and sent away to prison.

At least there is irrefutable DNA evidence, and these guys will be caught
and sent away.

These victims, in the worst of all possible words---have the best possible
evidence against these bastards--DNA.

And to hell with those enabling, sick "mothers" who damn well knew that this
was going on all around them--to innocent children and even to their own children.

They should be culpable in some way as well. They're victims, but they should
not be released into society without some kind of consequences.

I hope these victims are able to get far from these abusers--and into homes
where they can process this life-long trauma and heal.

2. The horrifying truth is

they will probably be able to spread their "religion" in prison, the same way the NOI, Aryan Brotherhood etc. grew large and powerful.

Not saying they shouldn't go to prison--just saying let the drug addicts out before they all fall prey to such noxious influences.

3. Fortunately...

...it's pretty difficult to molest innocent children, while you're in prison. That's their religion.

It won't be easy to spread their "religion", because it's not really about a philosophy like other
hate groups, like you mentioned. It's about molesting children and controlling women.

They won't have access to women or children, and I doubt they'd be very successful at recruiting
ruthless criminals into their way of life. Men who have done hard time, aren't really into molesting
children while being forced to churn butter and hang around women wearing floor-length prairie dresses.

I agree...let the drug addicts and the tax evaders out before these louses are put away. That
would be cruel-and-unusual punishment to be incarcerated with those twisted scumbags.

4. Question

How will DNA help if some of these teenagers are their own mothers' sisters or if their own fathers are their kids fathers? Who knows who is related to whom in that madhouse of incest and pedophilia.
