The gas tax "holiday": Man, do they think we're stupid.
Just want to point out that the federal gas tax is 18 cents a gallon. That means if you fill up your 15 gallon tank once a week you save a whopping $2.70 a week. If the wonderful holiday lasts for 12 weeks, your total savings will be around $30.00 dollars. Yeah, that's a huge help. If you're paying $4.00 a gallon, this is just a fucking joke.

3. all they are going to do is raise the gas per gallon 18 cents
and at the end of the 12 weeks, it will go up at least 18 cents, probably more, they think we will be most grateful for this holiday...

oh and what will we be doing with our 18 cents extra? Probably trying to buy a few more things at the store we drove to, so we can have a decent meal...

they are testing us...just to see how far they can go up in prices on gas, food, utilities etc...before we break.

4. The obvious reason it's pointless...
... is that as soon as they remove the tax and gas prices go down 18 cents, the oil companies will find a reason to raise the price of gas by 18 cents and we'll be right back where we were, except the oil companies will be raking in that extra money while our highways go to pot for lack of repair funds.

6. But It's $630 If You Add It To The Rebate
That extra $30 might be able to buy you a fast food meal in a few years, when the dollar is worth 1/4 of it's value.

7. A gas tax holiday and a $1200 tax rebate. Switch my party affiliation now!
I guess we will be the tax-and-spend defeatocrats again this election. Well, Hell, I didn;t really want universal healthcare anyway.

8. Anytime a Republican uses the word "tax"...
...you can be sure he will recommend a cut, followed by actions in the opposite direction and in secret.

10. don't ya know... taxes are the root of all evil
therefore, simply removing taxes will fix everything.

It's the GOP mantra.

13. Look at the last 8 - 10 years
They support impeachment of a President over a blow job and forgive a war criminal who stole two elections.

And yes they are probably stupid enough to think that the asshole McCain is a nice old man.

Americans bought the media smear of Obama with the fake Muslim claims and now with his ex minister.

If the media tells Americans they should like the "tax holiday" then Americans will fall for the lies once again.

Yes cali, Americans are stupid.

14. Do they expect prices to go down from this?
I would bet that the oil companies will not in fact lower prices to reflect the lower taxes and instead they will pocket the difference.

16. Our children and grandchildren cannot afford for us to take a gas tax holiday
If they want to control the price of gas, perhaps they should be talking about about serious energy alternatives and - dare I say it? - Regulation.

it's one thing to see McCain being a cynical, pandering pos, but it's another to see one of the dem candidates playing this game.
