There are people whose vocal qualities completly set me off too.

But I just wanted to ask you... are you aware that she has a neuorological condition that causes her voice to be as it is? It's called "spasmodic dysphonia" and she's fought hard to maintain as much of her voice as she still has. She goes off periodically for 1-2 week "voice treatments" in order to help her. I read her auto-biography several years ago and was inspired by her tenacity and willingness to keep putting herself "out there" in order to keep trying to live her passion.

You may know all that... but just in case you didn't, I wanted to give you a bit of perspective.

I remember when Diane was one of the only liberal voices out there that I could find on the net. Back when we had no local liberal radio. She'll always be one of the "greats".

5. Yes, RFK Jr has the same disorder

Only about 155,000 people in the country have it, so it's pretty rare. Some are receiving benefit from botox injections into the vocal cords. I dont' know if RFK Jr. receives those treatments or not, but Diane Rehm does.

As someone who has a different vocal issue, the fact that they can continue to speak out in public is inspiring to me.
