1. Disgusting.
I think most of our "leaders" in Congress are nothing more than liaisons between big business and the voters. Their function is to do the bidding of big business and then make it seem palatable to us. It seems there's corruption wherever you look.

Big oil, big pharma, big insurance, big media, you name it, they have become SO wealthy and powerful that they're now an almost irresistible force. They have far more control over our government than the voters.

Think about it. Paul Wellstone is practically revered as a saint. In a sane world he wouldn't have been unique or special. He was just doing his job. The same job ALL the politicians should be doing, looking out for the common good. Instead, we have what we have. A government and populace where a Wellstone is honored by a minority and considered a crackpot by the majority.

2. That's why he's dead
I hope the Dems open an investigation into his death next January.

3. There was a time when I would have dismissed that kind of talk
as silliness from some radical fringe-dwellers.

While I don't know enough about that to have a yes or no opinion, these days I certainly have an open mind to just about anything. I believe the group we have in power now is likely to commit any evil imaginable. The one and only thing stopping them would be whether or not they could get away with it. They are absolutely unscrupulous.
