About contaminated drugs from China

The recent tragic deaths due to contaminated ingredients used in heparin that were imported from China shines a light on the hypocracy of American drug manufactures who lobbied mightily against permitting Americans to purchase medication from Canada. Their rational was that there was no way to determine if the drugs were contaminated and a threat to the public. Doesn't everyone remember that?

2. Yeah. My mom and I once had quite the discussion about it.

I think her governor (Wisconsin) was trying to get drugs from Canada for state residents, and running into fed opposition. She was appalled at the idea, and believed the fed line about it. Wanted me to promise I'd never get drugs from Canada, because of the safety issues.

So, I was right. It was bs all the time. A hard way for the families of the victims to learn this. The CEO of Baxter Pharmaceutical should be charged with 62 counts of manslaughter.

I remember bush* in 2000 with debate with Al Gore. He responded to a question, would you allow Canadian drugs to be imported into the US? He said only if they are safe. What a dork.

My first question to the anesthesiologist on March 31st was "that heparin is NOT from China is it?"
