Did I hear that right? Did a caller just now state that he read a poll in which 50% of Americans consider themselves in the top 1% of Income earners?

2. Back in 2000 a poll was conducted where 19% indicated they were in the top 1% of income

And 20% thought they would be there someday.

So, that is 39% that think they are, or will be, in the top 1% someday.

3. I've heard something like that before.

It's been a few years, but it was something like, 25% think they're in the top 1% and 25% think they someday will be. Amazing either way.

but the point is disturbing. Far more Americans think they are middle class than actually are middle class as well.
