About That Torture/Waterboarding Thing
No one in the current administration seems to think that waterboarding is illegal.

Here is my litmus test.

You invite your neighbor over, tie up their arms and legs - put them in a prone position with their feet up, head down, cover their nose and mouth with a cloth and turn on the hose... Now hold the hose on their face making sure that water is being forced into their nose for about 15 to 30 minutes... Now let the neighbor go...

Wait....

Wait...

Neighbor calls the police.

Do you think you will be arrested? Do you think that the police may come over to your house and take you away in handcuffs and toss you in a cell and then the DA may just charge you with a crime... Say a crime like kidnapping and TORTURE? Do you think that your ever so slick defense council will be able to sell the jury the same crock of shit that Mukasey and Darth Cheney and Bush and Rice and blah-dee-blah-dee-blah have managed to sell to the Grand Old Phucks?

If it is not legal for you or me to do it... why is it okay for the government?

1. Because the American people aren't paying attention
Let's say your neighbors look out their windows and see what you are doing. And they don't call 911. A few others look out their windows, see you and come over to turn up the water pressure a little higher. Maybe they bring their hoses too. Because they don't like this neighbor; they think he is getting what he deserves.

But actually it's the ones who don't call 911 that I worry about.
