U.S. stock market futures edged higher Thursday as investors awaited another raft of economic data following the Federal Reserve's quarter-point rate cut and the nearly $11 billion in profits form oil giant Exxon Mobil.

U.S. initial jobless claims rose 35,000 to 380,000, while the four-week average of initial jobless claims edged down 6,500 to 363,750.

U.S. inflation adjusted spending rose in March, while disposable incomes were flat.
