For Exxon Mobil, $10.9 Billion Profit Disappoints
talk about arrogance....

Exxon Mobil, the world’s largest publicly traded oil company, said Thursday that its first-quarter net income rose 17 percent, helped by record high oil prices. But the results fell just short of analyst expectations.

The company said net income in the quarter was $10.9 billion or $2.03 a share, up from $9.3 billion, or $1.62 a share a year ago. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial had forecast $2.13 a share.

Revenue rose to $116.8 billion from $87.2 billion a year earlier.

4. Their shortfall probably had something to do with excessive executive compensation.

7. It's not a shortfall, it's below what analysts expected them to make.
