It was published one month ago.

U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Chad Caldwell, 24, from Spokane, Wash., plays golf as his comrades from K Troop, Third Squadron, Third Armored Cavalry Regiment, look on at Combat Outpost Rabiy in Mosul, Iraq Tuesday, March 25, 2008. The northern city is considered by the U.S. military as the last urban stronghold for al-Qaida in Iraq.

Here is the DoD press release from yesterday:

http://www.defenselink.mil/releases/release.aspx?releaseid=11894

Staff Sgt. Chad A. Caldwell, 24, of Spokane, Wash., died April 30 in Mosul, Iraq, of injuries sustained while conducting dismounted combat operations. He was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas.

Too bad about that propaganda machine. Reality bites, doesn't it, Big Brother? Incidentally, the six deaths in two days in May yield a projection near 100 - "too early to call," of course, but the trend since December is upward.

1. The first thing I focused on was ALL the DESTRUCTION around the soldier.
Time to bring the bush/cheney 'war' to a close with Commander-in-Chief Hillary Clinton.

6. Funny thing...My FIRST thought was, "what's all that rubble behind him"?
His death is only the latest irony in this useless war.

I can't share your opinion that Clinton would be the best one to fix this mess, though.

Twenty four
and there's so much more
Live alone in a paradise
That makes me think of two.

Love lost, such a cost,
Give me things
that don't get lost.
Like a coin that won't get tossed
Rolling home to you. N. Young

5. We're gonna smoke 'em out. Dead or alive. Now, watch this dismounted combat operation.

The fifth hole is right between the bombed-out barracks and the bombed-out latrine. The sandtrap is the recently discovered mass-grave.

7. Jesus Christ, its a real life version of the surfing scene
from Apocalypse Now. All is missing is someone saying "haji don't golf".
