McCain: Health

While age is sometimes mentioned I hear very little about McCain's health issues. The medication he may still take as a result of lifelong injuries, mental health, and his cancer. Aren't these legitimate issues?

With mental health being the key issue - McCain could very well could have some residual PTSD from his POW days, and he's demonstrated an inability to control his temper - so I feel that his mental stability is extremely relevant.

Consider this: to be a contestant on "Survivor", one has to submit to a lengthy, in-depth psychological profile - and that's for a stupid "reality" show - yet someone who will have their finger on the nuclear trigger doesn't have to be tested???? Many occupations require psychological testing prior to hire, for safety reasons - so why not the POTUS?

However, while McCain released his full medical records in 1999, he has yet to release his recent medical records, which his campaign reportedly says it will do "sometime in May" after reportedly having "pledged to release test results before the end of April."


On the April 24 edition of Fox News' Fox & Friends, during a discussion of an April 22 Los Angeles Times article headlined "John McCain gets tax-free disability pension," Mike Papantonio, co-host of Air America's Ring of Fire, stated of McCain, "e ought to have the right to know about what's the status of the cancer that he had -- he developed two times, malignant melanoma." Co-host Steve Doocy responded, "That is true. All right. And I believe those records have all been released." However, as numerous media outlets have reported, while McCain -- who had melanomas removed in 1993 and 2000 -- released his full medical records in December 1999, he has yet to release his recent medical records, and, indeed, the campaign reportedly now says "they're going to release his medical records ... sometime in May," after reportedly having "pledged to release test results before the end of April."
