http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7383859.stmI'm glad people are getting help, but I'm disturbed by the motivations for the help. It isn't because they are concerned for the wealfare or quality of life of fellow humans, it has nothing to do with ecological concerns or concerns over international food policy or speculation (effects on food supply and demand for monetary gains) it is out of concern for Profit, for the all mighty Gross Domestic Product the misguided or at best outdated measure of prosperity that is leading us down the path of destruction by encouraging growth for growth's sake instead of growth in the quality of life for humans and the health of the ecology.
The US and West have set the standard and continue to refuse change course and set a new sustainable more quality driven example and help set the rest of the world on a better path.
