What pundit do you dislike the most, and why?
I thought this would be an interesting idea for a thread. Try to focus on actual well-known pundits and not simply conservative TV and radio personalities like Limbaugh, Coulter, and O'Reilly.

I'll start by saying that no pundit disgusts me like Thomas Friedman. The man is an opportunist and a bandwagoner. He married his way into billionairedom and then has the gall to ask American workers to consider globalization as a positive development. Friedman is the chief propagandist for the cultureless, anti-labor, neoliberal world order.

Among his more repulsive quotes are the following:
"If NATO’s only strength is that it can bomb forever, then it has to get every ounce out of that. Let’s at least have a real air war. The idea that people are still holding rock concerts in Belgrade, or going out for Sunday merry-go-round rides, while their fellow Serbs are ‘cleansing’ Kosovo, is outrageous. It should be lights out in Belgrade: every power grid, water pipe, bridge, road and war-related factory has to be targeted." - It's easy to take war so lightly in your mansion thousands of miles away.

"McDonald’s cannot flourish without McDonnell Douglas, the designer of the U.S. Air Force F-15. And the hidden fist that keeps the world safe for Silicon Valley’s technologies to flourish is called the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps." - I'm sure our veterans would love to hear that.

"It's time we Americans came to terms with something: France is not just our annoying ally. It is not just our jealous rival. France is becoming our enemy." - This went beyond even the standard right-wing France-bashing of 2003. Now he's anti-war. Big surprise.

Friedman also has been a key supporter of "alternative fuels" such as ethanol, effectively promoting policies that lead to the starvation of millions.

He is a disgusting human being. Students at Brown recently disrupted a guest lecture of his (I wonder how much the scumbag charges) by throwing pies at him. While I applaud the students who pied him, I believe a more fitting punishment would be to have him eat dirt patties like the Haitians are forced to do.

3. Tim Russert...he's a rw hack who has a reputation as being objective...
...most others are at least called out at one time or another, but Timmy gets away with doing more damage because of his so-called reputation.

4. Joe Scarborough...he tries to come across as a "fair conservative", but
I get a sense that he really hates people, especially women. His unwarrented sense of self worth is also irritating. He is dead certain he is always the smartest guy in the room, and can't help smirking.

because he can go toe to toe with Tom Hartmann and still get kool-aid drinkers and (some)college kids to believe in his free-market snake-oil.

I hate all punditry in general but he's the topper. That little corporate ass kisser (really, he has defended the ridiculous gas prices at some points) is the definition of all that is soulless and wrong with this country.

20. i don't dislike him "most" -- but i'm the most troubled by James H. Kunstler...here's why:
He's one of the few talking about the BIG picture -- whatever that is (post-capitalism?). And, seeing him on Colbert left me cold (turned off the b/f, too). JK was oddly unlikeable. He had that "too late now, jokes on you fucker" swagger that is wholly understandable, but seems cheap. Seems strangely predatory to talk about rapid cultural change in one breath and completely dismiss our ability to address it in the next.

Surely he's doing this on purpose, this PJ O'Rourk schtick. Who, by the way, totally qualifies for a pundit I "dislike most."
