Investigators Check Underground Pipes For Evidence

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A woman was raped by two men early Monday morning during an Orange County home invasion and her husband was tied up and forced to watch, deputies said.

Orange County sheriff's deputies said two masked men broke into the home, located near state Road 417 and Landstar Boulevard, through a back door at about 1:50 a.m. and assaulted the woman after kicking down a bedroom door.

"When I was sleeping, somebody (broke) the door, and one had a gun and one had a knife," the woman said. "They tied my husband's hands and told him, 'I'm going to mess with your wife and you've got to look at what we're going to do,'" the woman said.

The victim told Local 6 News that one of the assailant's masks came off during the assault, allowing her to see the man, whom she said she recognized although she had not seen him in years.

Clear out the drug offenders from prison, make more room for scum like this - and keep them there a VERY long time.

1. And people should not be allowed to own guns to defend themselves?
The last thing I ever hope to do is to take a human life.

That said, I value the right to defend my family in situations like this.

2. I'm not sure what that has to do with the OP.
For all we know, perhaps they did own a gun.

3. This is a sickening story. But you have to wonder if with determined sadists like this...
brandishing a gun at them would probably only get you killed. It's not even 50-50 when people go thru careful planned out assaults like this. This isn't an anti-gun argument I'm making, it's an anti-pro-gun argument. In some since, of course, I'd probably want to try and save my wife, even if I risked going down in a failed fight. But in practical terms it's probably better that the man survived and can try and help his wife recover and build a normal life back.

4. "Brandishing"?
Anybody who brandishes a gun shouldn't own one.

I wouldn't have brandished anything...I'd have shot them.

6. Or the guys who planned out this surprise assault would've shot you.
Seriously, this is a grudge carried out by sadistic sociopaths. Can you seriously image they didn't case the joint or would've let the homeowner get the drop on them?

You can't figure out debates based on exceptional cases like this. Most crimes are only half planned by druggies or losers. A gun might work then. Here, I just don't see it.

7. Depending on the circumstance, you could well be right.
My cue was that they heard somebody breaking in. Coming out of a deep sleep, who knows how coherent any given person will be, but there was some warning...they didn't just wake to 2 men standing at the foot of their bed.

8. with warning
I can get to a loaded weapon, with no warning and they are just standing there with their weapons discretion is the better part of valor

9. Agreed. Sometimes the smaller defeat is the best available choice.
...not to imply that this situation was a "small defeat", but it's slightly better than a double homicide.

10. Castration, followed by being dumped into shark infested waters while bleeding
That would be a good end for them.

11. Oh, there are SOOOO many better solutions...use your imagination.
Sleep deprivation makes people very suggestible....you can convince them that almost anything is happening to them...
