1. Can you say, Colombia!

While countries like Argentina and Chile are coming to terms with the bloody past and those responsible are being held accountable, the School of the Americas where the henchmen received their instructions is still in operation. No U.S. officials are being held accountable for the destructive role they played. Without an independent investigation into the use of the torture manuals at the School of the Americas and the connection between U.S. military training and human rights atrocities in Latin America, the U.S. will repeat history and the people of the Americas are paying with their lives (as is the case in Colombia right now, where the SOA trained military is committing human rights abuses on a daily basis.)

5. It will be a moot point soon
Latin American governments friendly to the US are becoming fewer by the day, so it won't be long before there are no longer any military officers attending the school and it will be relegated to training reich-wing terrorists.

7. The Synarchists are still in charge there
Edited on Tue May-06-08 10:41 AM by formercia
The times they are a-changin'.

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone.
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'.
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'.
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.
