A weapon of mass destruction is a weapon that does not target specific individuals and will cause wide spread devastation to civilian as well as military personnel and to man made and natural environmental structures.

A weapon that destroys indiscriminately.

An equal opportunity killing device.

A sniper is not a weapon of mass destruction. A hand grenade is. So is a suicide bomber.

If we accept this definition we have to acknowledge that bombs; smart, dumb and suicide are weapons of mass destruction. As a country and a military power the United States has deployed Weapons of Mass Destruction and sold Weapons of Mass Destruction since the advent of Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Time we got off our high horse and came to terms with just who the world sees as the bad guy.

The surface to air missile sold to Israel and fired from an F-16 sold to Israel into a Palestinian apartment building is a Weapon of Mass Destruction. An Israeli Defense Force team dispatched to find and kill those who direct Weapons of Mass Destruction against Israel is not.

The line isn’t that damn fine. Either you seek out the enemy or you kill a lot of people indiscriminately.

One is easy, one is hard. One is what defines humanity and the other is . . .
